As fans of our little blog will know we at Compelling Reads have loved Giovanna Fletcher’s books and were jumping up & down with excitement at the release of Dream A Little Dream.  So picture our joy at finding out Giovanna was having “An evening with…” event at Waterstone Covent Garden on 23rd June, queue quickly booking tickets before they sold out (on the morning of my @Amz785 hen do no less) & yay we were booked in!

Arriving at Waterstones (after our traditional pre-book launch / event McDonalds) we were impressed to see Waterstones had laid on Ferraro Roche!  (mmm chocolate hazlenutty goodness).  Space was a little tight but we nabbed ourselves a seat and eagerly awaited the arrival of Mrs Fletcher herself.  The lady herself arrived looking as lovely as always and we were treated to a fabulous talk courtesy of Anna James (@acaseforbooks) where we learnt how Giovanna writes and how being a mum has changed her writing style.

Best news of the evening however was the news that Billy & Me is coming back in November & also her inspired dream casting for Billy if it were a film (Tom Hiddleston was mentioned (*swoon*).

Best bit of the evening was of course meeting Giovanna herself, who was thoroughly lovely and just as she comes across on her YouTube channel! I very much hope we’ll get the opportunity to meet her again!

Dream a little dream
Giovanna Fletcher

18th June 2015

Sarah is doing just fine. Sure she's been single for the last five years, and has to spend an uncomfortable amount of time around her ex-boyfriend and their mutual friends, and the rest at her tediously mundane job, but it's fine. She's happy(ish).

But it's not surprising that when Sarah starts dreaming about a handsome stranger, she begins looking forward to falling asleep at night. Reality isn't nearly as exciting. That is until her dream-stranger makes an unexpected real-life appearance, leaving Sarah questioning everything she thought she wanted.

Because people never really find the person of their dreams... do they?
