I bought this book for myself around Christmas as a treat, from the advertising I saw for it it looked like this would be a fun insight into one of the biggest popstars. The book alternates from more or less the present time 2016/2017 and goes back to the early 2000’s with some mentions of Robbie’s early career in Take That.
I thought that the book would be more structured then it turned out to be, the timeline was going back and forth and there was no real chapter seperations. For me this made the book a bit difficult to follow and I couldn’t track where in time the biographer was.
Whilst there was some funny insights, the biogrpahy did unveil more of an anxiety ridden guy who doesn’t deal well with praise but also can’t live without the singing / songwriting. It gave a glimpse into his family life and the way in which he writes songs which was probably the most fascinating part for me.
I did enjoy the book but not as much as I think I would had it been a structured biography with a clear straight forward timeline. As much as I love Robbie I think this one is better for those diehard Robbie fans, otherwise sadly I think it’s better left under the coffee table.
Reveal: Robbie Williams
21st September 2017
An intimate, funny and frank account of the moments behind the music, of the truth behind the headlines and of the fascinatingly complicated man behind the imperious entertainer, Reveal is Robbie Williams as you've never seen him before.
More than twelve years ago, Robbie Williams and Chris Heath published a ground-breaking memoir, Feel, about Robert P. Williams' rise to fame; a book that was met with worldwide acclaim, from critics and fans alike.
Since that time, Robbie has released six solo albums, reunited with his old band Take That and, in the wake of his twelfth UK number-one album, has returned to the stage with a sold-out run at Wembley Stadium.
In Reveal, bestselling author Chris Heath has been working closely with Robbie for many years to create a personal and raw account of fame, fortune, family and music; a vivid and detailed story of the real highs and lows as Robbie has found his way forward, that is unprecedented in its intimacy and honesty.
Long-awaited by millions, Reveal is the uncensored and compelling portrait of the man as you've never seen him before.
I’ve had this book sitting in my to read pile for some time, so having a day off gave me the ideal opportunity to sit down and get through this book in one afternoon.
Carrie has made her name as actress, singer and vlogger over the last few years and now she’s added author to her c.v. All I know now is an autobiographical guide to those out there that might be in need of some advise. Carrie is known for tackling some tough issues on her vlogs and again in her writing she’s not afraid of talking about things like bullying and sex, using her own experiences as an example to let the reader know they aren’t alone.
As a slightly older reader I felt the book was probably more appropriate to a younger reader, early – late teens, for those who are looking to know they aren’t alone in the thoughts and feeling and questions that come with growing up and finding your place in the world.
This book is like having the comforting voice of an older sister showing you the way, you’ll laugh, maybe you’ll cry but you’ll come out at the end knowing you aren’t alone and that there are others who understand and have been in the tricky position of surviving the teenage years and come out the other side!
I’m looking forward to reading more of Carrie’s work!
All I Know Now
Carrie Hope Fletcher
23rd April 2015
We all know that growing up is hard to do, and sometimes the only thing that makes it better are the reassuring words of someone who has walked that bumpy road just a few steps ahead of you and somehow ended up as a fully-functioning adult. Carrie Hope Fletcher is that person. Thanks to her phenomenally popular YouTube videos, Carrie has become an 'honorary big sister' to hundreds of thousands of young people who turn to her for advice, friendship and, most of all, the knowledge that things will get better.
Carrie has created a safe and positive space for young people to connect and share their hopes and concerns online, and now she will share her most personal thoughts and experiences in her first book, ALL I KNOW NOW. It includes Carrie's thoughts on some of the topics she's asked about most regularly: bullying, body image, relationships and perhaps the scariest question of all: what does the future hold for me? With warmth, wit and a sprinkling of hard-won wisdom, Carrie will provide the essential tools for growing up gracefully . . . most of the time.
With thanks to Plexus Publishing Ltd for allowing us a copy of this book in exchange for review. I’ve heard of 5 seconds of summer and it was becoming obvious this is an up and coming band, but I’d honestly not heard any of their music and didn’t know much about them, where they come from (Australia as it turns out – I’d assumed they were American for reasons unknown) or how many were in the band
Not being a fan of the band the book was a great quick insight into their journey from classroom to stadium shows.
Interspersed with biographies of each group member which are surprisingly detailed & lengthy, even giving you their birthday & star signs.
The book did seem to keep going back to the comparison between the band & one direction (& it seems there are a few but then there are also differences with the band being more punk then pop)
It’s full of photos as well so this would be great to add to a fans collection!

First of all I would like to take this opportunity to thank Brenna at Plexus Publishing for sending us a copy of Being Benedict Cumberbatch in exchange for an honest review.
Now I’m not a huge Benedict Cumberbatch fangirl but I do love Sherlock and I know a few Cumberbitches….. so there was a few people very interested in this new biography and I was keen to check it out.
Being Benedict is illustrated with lots of pictures of the new star which I’m sure some of the girls out there will enjoy greatly. The book covers Benedicts life from the back story of his parents, his early childhood, school days through to his early career and more recent rise to fame, with lots of little facts and trivia bits thrown in for good measure.
Its a real quick, easy read and to be honest I doubt there’s much in the book that will surprise those hard core fans, but none the less its an enjoyable book and written in true fan girl style.. if your a hardcore Cumberbitch or just got a little crush you’ll probably want to check it out.
I am fairly new to the world of Benedict, but after seeing various blogger friends swooning over Mr B and Sherlock, I found myself compelled to find out more. I was instantly hooked by Sherlock and found myself instantly becoming a huge fan of Benedict, so this book had huge appeal.
Being Benedict is full to the brim with photographs of every occasion and gives a fabulous insight to the life of Benedict. I loved the lay out and formatting of this book, it was appealing to the eye and made the book a quick and east read. Being Benedict is full of trivia and fascinating facts which I thoroughly enjoyed devouring, enabling me to learn more about this highly praised and admired actor.
As Amy said before, this is a book to check out if you have even the slightest crush on Mr B… It is well worth the read!

Along the way he s won the hearts, minds and Twitter accounts of an alarmingly enthusiastic global fan base, many of whom refer to themselves as Cumberbitches. But who is Benedict Cumberbatch, and why do teenagers, their parents and everyone in between love him so much? Illustrated throughout with full-colour photographs, Being Benedict Cumberbatch is an essential guide to the man at the centre of the Cumberverse.
Thanks to Hilary for sending us a copy of her memoir to review. This was really beautifully written through present tense & a series of flashbacks covering Hilary’s relationship with Mark.
Mark is a commitment phobe & butt of the family’s jokes due to his lack of proposal to long term girlfriend Hilary, then a New Years Eve proposal joke goes slightly wrong but brings the relationship into perspective.
Their story was very touching & at times emotional, I could really connect with Hilary & feel her frustrations & happiness.
I loved Hilary’s close relationship with her mum, & her mums own relationship with her husband being a kind of mirror of Hilary & Mark’s.
An emotionally charged book that’s well worth losing yourself in!

For every girl who wondered if she should love him or dump him.....
For every girl who listened to her heart instead of her friends advice....
For every girl who l wondered if she was wasting her time dating that guy....
She had gotten used to dating the commitment-phobic Marc, thirteen years her senior. They had a great relationship--why rush into things? She saw no need to pressure him for marriage, believing that when the time was right, he would propose. But after they had been together for four years, their friends decided to take matters into their own hands, pushing Marc to propose and making Hilary realize how much she really did want to marry the man that she loved. Unfortunately, Marc still wasn't ready--and their friends' meddling in the form of a faux engagement party led to a disastrous New Year's Eve that brought their relationship to an inevitable turning point.
Katie Price’s latest autobiography promises lots of scandal and gossip. Covering her divorce from Alex Reid, her relationship with Leo Penna, the on going battles in the press with Peter Andre and her marriage to Kieran Hayler and forth pregnancy.
Having read Katie’s previous autobiographies I was looking forward to reading this, not because it would be a work of literary brilliance, but because they are usually honest and full of scandal. While this latest instalment certainly had plenty of scandal and gossip, I was left disappointed. Love, Lipstick and Lies is VERY repetitive and if I’m honest I was bored. A number of times I nearly gave up reading it completely, but pushed myself to continue as I hate leaving a book unfinished no matter how bad it is.
Love, Lipstick and Lies was no where near the standard of her previous autobiographies. The language used was so simple, while that made it an easy read it just didn’t hold my attention. Which alongside the repetitive nature of the whole book made it a very dull read.
This book felt like an opportunity to slate and blame everyone she could for recent events. I very much doubt I would read any future autobiographies that she may release in the future. I think this was one autobiography too many.
Love, Lipstick and Lies
The latest instalment in the fascinating life of the one and only Katie Price.
The last three years of Katie Price's life have been some of the most dramatic and startling yet. In this dazzling instalment of her life, Katie reveals the many ups and downs from the highly publicised divorce from Alex Reid, the romance and split from Leo Penna and a whirlwind marriage and surprise pregnancy with Kieran Hayler. And that'’s just her love life.
Katie has also dealt with increasingly bitter disputes with first husband Peter Andre and her former manager, as well as her public spat with comedian Frankie Boyle who made offensive comments about her disabled son Harvey.
Despite her personal life being played out in the public arena, Katie remains true to her heart by always speaking her mind and living life to the full. Lipstick, Love and Lawsuits gives her side of the story, once again expressing her humour, passion and strength to her loyal fans.
