First of all I would like to thank Holly for sending me a copy of The Prophecies to review and for asking me to be part of the blog tour.
I was thrilled to back in the world of Eve and Seth after such a long time, and boy was it worth the wait! The Prophecies picks up from where we left Eve and Seth at the end of The Sentinel. Straight away we are thrown into the drama of their life and their new and budding relationship. Eve is growing stronger everyday, as is her love for Seth. But now there is disquiet among the Oraculum, meaning Eve’s life is now at risk from those who created her in the first place.
When I first started this series, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. Fantasy isn’t the sort of genre I usually enjoy, but I was instantly blown away by the plot and the characters. The Prophecies certainly doesn’t disappoint and Holly certainly steps it up a gear with book 2. We have the love story of the century, special powers, shape shifters and the looming of the end of the world. Everything you could think of to make an amazing book is packed in to this book with perfection. The Prophecies is fast paced and packed full of exciting twists and turns which left me wanting more and desperate to see what would happen next. Not to mention some hidden surprises and heart wrenching moments.
The Prophecies is beautifully descriptive and portrays monumental scenes with such vividness, it was like watching a movie inside my mind. Then there is the dialogue between Eve and Seth, and their whole relationship, the beauty of it and the love literally flows from the page. Eve and Seth are beautifully complex characters, it is clear to see that Holly has put so much in to their development. But my favourite character by far is Quinn, he has a gentle kindness which I was instantly drawn to.
Holly has really paved the way in The Prophecies for the remainder of the series, there is an expectant tension building and the mother of all cliff hangers which literally had me on the end of my seat. I am desperate to know where Eve and Seth’s story takes us next. If The Prophecies is anything to go by, I know book 3 is going to be mind blowing and deliver the plot and ending of the century. I just hope there is a happy ending for Eve and Seth.
The Prophecies is a beautifully thrilling and romantic tale, full of action and suspense which will literally have the reader hooked from page one. This is a truly spell binding read, which will stay with you long after you finish. This is a book to be devoured and treasured, Holly has an incredible ability to weave a tale and her words flow from the page with ease. So do not let this book pass you by, even if you don’t think this is the book for you, put your thoughts aside and take the plunge. I promise you, you will not be sorry.
